PUKY children's bikes – safe, reliable and fun mobility from the age of 3

PUKY bikes offer the perfect entry into independent mobility. Whether you're looking for a first bike like the YOUKE, a lightweight sports model like the LS-PRO or a fully equipped everyday bike like the CYKE – PUKY has the right solution for every child and every need.

All models are ergonomically designed, durable and equipped with child-appropriate components – ideal for everyday use, school and play. Thanks to different frame sizes, gearing options and brake systems, every bike can be perfectly adjusted to your child.

Our comparison chart helps you choose the right bike – tailored to age, height and inseam.

Below, we answer the most common questions parents have when buying a kids’ bike.

A children's bike needs to fit properly. But there are different sizing systems. Here you’ll find out which ones matter and how to determine the correct size for your PUKY bike.
Most importantly, the bike must be the right size. Especially the saddle height and frame height are crucial. You can already spot important clues – for example during a test ride – with the naked eye:
More about this here: Adjusting saddle height correctly

Getting started is easy – if the bike fits your child. (Tips for the first bike purchase)

  • A frame that is too large poses a safety risk – especially if your child can’t reach the ground quickly with their feet.

  • At the same time, your child should be able to stand over the frame (in front of the saddle) with both feet flat on the ground without touching the top tube. Otherwise, this also indicates a frame that is too large or too high.

  • A bike is too small if your child rides with legs that are too bent, even when the saddle is fully extended.

It often happens that a child falls between two bike sizes. It may seem logical to buy the larger bike with the idea: "They’ll grow into it." But – like all experts – we strongly advise against this, for three main reasons:

  • A frame that is too large poses a safety risk – especially if your child can’t reach the ground quickly with their feet.

  • A high frame makes mounting and dismounting more difficult.

  • A bike frame doesn't just grow in height – it also gets longer. On a frame that’s too long, your child sits too stretched out. This is not only uncomfortable – it also makes it harder for your child to control the bike and keep a good overview of the road. Handlebars and brake levers may even be out of reach in tight turns.

Of course, bike control also depends on your child’s riding ability. But as a rule of thumb, it’s better to choose a slightly smaller bike than one that’s too big. A smaller bike gives your child a greater sense of control and safety – which leads to more confidence, more fun, and a better riding experience.

Another plus for your investment in a properly sized children’s bike:
PUKY bikes are built to last and have a high resale value. You can easily pass them on to younger siblings – or sell them second-hand at a good price.

Bonus:
We offer a transferable five-year warranty on the frame, fork, and handlebar.

Children of the same height can still have different leg lengths. That’s why inseam length is ultimately the most important measurement when determining the right size for a children's bike.
We therefore list it separately for every model – as the recommended “inseam height.”
(How to measure inseam height)

Since our bikes come with a height-adjustable saddle, the recommended inseam range for each model typically spans around ten centimeters. This means the bike can "grow" with your child for a while.
After that, it’s time to move up to a larger bike – usually also with larger wheels.

Conclusion:
Whether a children’s bike fits can often be spotted by a trained eye.
But the most reliable objective value is your child’s inseam height, which must match the manufacturer’s recommendation for the model.

PUKY offers suitable models starting at age 3. YOUKE is great for beginners, while the LS-PRO is ideal for sporty kids. CYKE and SKYRIDE are perfect for everyday use from around 6 years.

It depends on your child’s height and inseam. A rough guide:

  • 12–14”: from 95 cm (~3 years)

  • 16–18”: from 105 cm (~4–5 years)

  • 20–24”: from 115 cm (~6+ years)

See our size chart for details.

YOUKE is ideal for beginners with coaster brake. LS-PRO is sportier and ultra-light with two handbrakes – perfect for confident riders.

Yes! CYKE and SKYRIDE models are StVZO-compliant with LED lights, mudguards and often racks – perfect for daily use and the school run.

Both are fully equipped everyday bikes. CYKE is sportier, with a matte finish and modern look. SKYRIDE is available in brighter colors and is often chosen by younger school kids.

Ideally, a child’s bike should weigh 30–40 % of their body weight. LS-PRO is extra lightweight (from 5.3 kg), while fully equipped bikes like CYKE or SKYRIDE weigh slightly more (from 10 kg).
