Our biggest wheel is the PUKY® LR XL.
Again and again parents tell us that besides the bike their children also like to switch to a light and uncomplicated bike to be mobile in the neighborhood. For them and for children, who should learn cycling a little later is our PUKY® LR XL. Spoked wheels and the voluminous 2.4" tires make this balance bike fit for heavy use on a variety of surfaces. The powerful V-Brake only retardations the rear wheel. So trained children can conjure their first slides safely on the asphalt. The child-friendly handbrake lever is specially designed for children's hands, so that the handlebars remain safely covered even during braking. The safety handles protect the tender hands of children and defuse the handlebar ends. The banana saddle pulled up in front ensures that the gained momentum is transferred to the vehicle without the child sliding forward from the saddle. The deep access allows safe ascents and descents. Thanks to the large running board, the rider can park his feet when going downhill, thus ensuring a favorable center of gravity and safe handling, even at higher speeds. We intentionally do without a steering angle limit on our wheels. So the handlebar lies flat on the ground when falling and the risk of injury drops considerably. The ‘banana saddle’ specially developed for our balance bikes gives children a secure hold and supports their running movements. As the thrust impulse can only be transmitted via the saddle on a balance bike, a completely different shape is required here than on a bicycle to give the child safety and good control of the vehicle.
The V-brake on the rear wheel of the LR XL is a good alternative for older and heavier children. Although less experienced riders will initially have the odd drift due to the high braking effect, children of this age are quicker to judge the high braking effect. However, we only install this type of brake on the rear wheel. In the event of sudden emergency braking, there is no risk of a locked wheel leading to a fall.
The low entry on our balance bikes makes it easy to get on and off, which gives beginners in particular a high degree of safety and confidence in the vehicle and their own abilities. This means that learning success is achieved more quickly and the fun of exercise is increased.
Anyone who watches children riding downhill can see how important a large footboard is. If one is not available, the feet are intuitively lifted high off the ground. The centre of gravity moves upwards, the whole vehicle loses stability and rocks upwards. However, if the feet are low and centred in the vehicle, the track remains stable and unsteadiness does not occur in the first place.
To ensure good ergonomics and the longest possible service life, the handlebars and seat post of our LRM bikes are infinitely height-adjustable. This allows the bike to continuously adapt to the height growth of young riders.

Measuring inner leg length in three steps
But how can you measure your child's inner leg length? Quite simply:
- Your child stands with its back against a wall wearing shoes.
- Clamp a book between its legs with the horizontal upper edge at the crotch.
- Now you can measure the distance from the top edge of the book to the floor with a tape measure or folding rule.
The measured value in centimetres is the inner leg length or crotch height. You can now use it to determine the right size for your child's balance bike or bicycle on our website.
