Below, we answer the most common questions regarding balance bikes – particularly concerning suitability based on age, size, and developmental stage.

A balance bike is generally suitable for children from around 1.5 to 2 years of age – provided they can stand and walk safely on their own. The most important factor is the correct inseam length, so that both feet can touch the ground comfortably.

PUKY balance bikes, such as the LR M model, are suitable from around 2 years of age. For taller children aged 2.5 to 3 years and up, models like the LR L, LR LIGHT, or LR XL are ideal. The key factors are body height and inseam length – our size chart helps you find the perfect model.

A child can start using a balance bike as soon as they are able to walk confidently and independently – this is usually between 18 and 24 months of age. The first balance bike should be lightweight and ergonomically designed – like our PUKY LR M or the grow-with-me PUKY NEXT.

For children aged around 2 years, we recommend balance bikes with 10-inch or smaller 12-inch wheels. The PUKY LR M (8.8 inches) is particularly compact, while the LR L or LR LIGHT with 12-inch wheels offer a bit more size – ideal for growing children.
